Phoenix Man Charged In Girlfriend's Murder

Brayan Ortez Garcia is being held at Maricopa County Jail on a $1 million bond.

PHOENIX, AZ — A 27-year-old man has been charged on suspicion of second-degree murder in the Dec. 22 death of his romantic partner, a 33-year-old woman, according to Phoenix Police.

Airam Melo, 33, was found stabbed to death Dec. 22 in the 1800 block of North 45th Avenue, according to police.
Brayan Ortez Garcia, 26, was arrested for second degree murder and booked into the Maricopa County Jail on Dec. 23, according to online court records.

Garcia remains in jail on a $1 million bond. His next court date is set for Thursday.
