Phoenix Motorized Wheelchair Rider Struck By Car Has Died
A Phoenix motorized wheelchair operator trying to cross Broadway Road mid-block Tuesday night was struck by a car and died at the hospital.
PHOENIX, AZ – A 63-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair struck by a sedan Tuesday night on Broadway Road has died, the Phoenix Police Department reported Wednesday.
The wheelchair operator, whose name hasn’t been released by police, was hit by a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria sedan as he tried to cross Broadway Road near 8th Street. An earlier police report indicated the victim attempted to cross the road mid-block.
After the collision, the wheelchair operator was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 25-year-old man driving the Ford wasn't injured and stayed at the scene after the accident. Police said he wasn’t impaired.
