Phoenix Police Involved In Shooting, Two In Custody
Police say that an officer shot a man who pointed a gun at him. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

PHOENIX, AZ – Phoenix police say that one of their officers shot a man early Thursday morning after the man pointed a gun at him. The man was rushed to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
A woman is also in custody.
Police say that around 12:30 a.m., an officer saw a speeding motorcycle with two people on board by 7th Avenue and Bell Road.

Around 7th Street and Loop 101, the officer found the motorcycle on the ground but no one around. He then saw a woman hiding in the bushes. As he ordered her to come out with her hands up, a man emerged and pointed a gun at the officer, who fired.

As this was happening, the woman fled but was caught soon after.
This is at least the 36th officer-involved shooting in the Valley so far this year.
