Phoenix Sky Harbor Crane Topples, Construction Worker Missing

The crane toppled near the West Economy Lot. Phoenix Fire is on scene trying to determine if anyone is trapped or injured.

PHOENIX, AZ – A construction worker is missing after a crane toppled on to its side at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It happened around 9 a.m., Monday morning in the West Economy Lot.

That is the lot to the west of Terminals 2, 3, and 4.

The crane was involved in construction work on the Sky Train skystem.

Phoenix Fire is on scene along with other emergency personnel and the crane will have to be moved before they know if it is a recovery or rescue mission.

Officials say the do not yet know what caused the train to collapse.
