  1. The nearby City of Glendale is set to change its name temporarily to welcome Taylor Swift as she kicks off her national tour at State Farm Stadium. Mayor Jerry P. Weiers will read a proclamation next week, symbolically renaming the city for the duration of Swift's stay in Glendale until Mar. 18. Local businesses are also joining in the celebration by offering Swift-themed menu items and the Westgate Entertainment District is putting up welcoming messages.(12news.com KPNX)
  2. There are a variety of family-friendly and free events to enjoy this weekend in Phoenix, including Majestic Mariposas, a butterfly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden, and the Irish Fountain Fest in Fountain Hills. The Phoenix St. Patrick's Day Parade taking place tomorrow, Mar. 11, is a popular event for all ages, followed by a fair at Margaret T. Hance Park.   3. In nearby Scottsdale, a car crashed into a Starbucks yesterday (Mar. 9), injuring two people. The accident occurred when the driver failed to put the car in park and drove into the coffee shop where about 20-25 people were present.
