Phoenix Student Engages In ‘Art Exchange' With Student In Ireland

A Bradley University student from Phoenix was recently paired with a student in Ireland to participate in the "Out My Window" art exchange.

The art exchange students in Ireland and at Bradley had to draw what their cross-Atlantic partner described as they looked out the window, without looking at a photo.

PHOENIX, AZ — Kayleanne Kizior, a Bradley University student from Phoenix, recently participated in an “art exchange” project with students attending an Irish school. The “Out My Window” project had Bradley interactive media students such as Kizior randomly matched with a “pen pal” student attending Ireland’s LIT Limerick School of Art and Design in Clonmel.

Each person in each of the 35 pairs of participating students had to look out their window and describe what they observed and how they were feeling. Then their cross-Atlantic partner had two weeks to draw a picture solely from the provided description.

At the voluntary project’s end, the students met over Skype to share their artistic depictions of what was described by their partner.
