PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix police released the names of three children found dead in their home Monday — and whose mother confessed to killing them: Zane Henry, 3; Miraya Henry, 2 next week; and baby girl Catalaya Rios, 7 months. Rachel Henry, 22, was booked Tuesday on three counts of first-degree murder.

In a police probable cause statement, NBC News reported, Henry confessed that she had smothered her children and then put them on a couch in the family home’s living room so that it looked like they were asleep. She kept what she had done to herself, she told police, so that the 30-year-old father and a female relative age 49 in the house at the time of the killings didn’t know about the murders.

Henry, a police report said, “had a methamphetamine addiction and had been acting strange the past several days.” Her court appearance Tuesday revealed her children were previously removed from her home, according to azfamily.com.
