Bystander Shot After Three Men Argue At Phoenix Walmart: Police
The woman suffered injuries at the Walmart on Metro Parkway East that police did not believe were life threatening.
PHOENIX, AZ — A woman was shot and three men were detained after the men got into an argument at a Phoenix Walmart and one of the men shot at the other men but missed and hit the woman, according to Phoenix police.
The 45-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital for injuries that police did not believe were life threatening. Police have not publicly identified the woman or the two men who were not believed to be the shooters.
The man who police believe was the shooter, Diontay Evans, 18, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Walmart store at 9600 N. Metro Parkway East in Phoenix after the three men, who knew each other, got into an argument, police said. One of the men stepped outside the door and shot into the store, aiming at one of the other men, but hitting the woman instead, according to police.
An off-duty Phoenix police officer who was working security at the Walmart detained the suspected shooter and the other men. Police cleared the Walmart after the shooting to make sure that no one involved in the shooting was missed and to ensure they hadn't missed anyone else who might have been hurt.
