Silver Alert: What Phoenix Police Know About Missing 60-Year-Old

Juan Tafoya, a 60-year-old with dementia, is still missing 8 days after he was last seen near 15th Ave. and Osborn Road in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, AZ — Many Phoenix adults and youth are found within 24 to 48 hours of being reported missing, but police say Juan Tafoya, 60, is still missing after 8 days. “We continue to follow up on leads and continue to have contact with family,” said Mercedes Fortune, a sergeant with the Phoenix Police Department. Here’s what police know about Tafoya.

Tafoya was last seen on Tues., Jan. 7 around 1 p.m. near 15th Ave. and Osborn Road in Phoenix. A medical condition he has might make him appear disoriented or confused. He has brown hair and brown eyes and is 5’5” and 160 lbs. Tafoya was wearing blue jeans, a black or dark gray sweater and brown sandals when he was last seen.
