Teen Accidentally Shot To Death By Another Teen: Police

Police believe that a 14-year-old boy was shot to death by a 15-year-old boy who was playing with a gun.

PHOENIX, AZ — A 14-year-old boy is dead after being shot in what investigators believe was an accidental shooting, that resulted from a 15-year-old boy playing with a gun, according to Phoenix Police.

Emir Rivas, 14, was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.

The shooting happened around 11:20 a.m. on May 17 near 1100 E. Moreland St., when Rivas was shot while riding in a vehicle, police said.

The 15-year-old boy who police believe accidentally shot Rivas was booked into jail, police said. They did not identify the suspected shooter or share what crime he was suspected of committing.
