Tempe Mom Faces Abuse Charge After Kid Eats Laced Mac And Cheese
Alaina Limpert laughed about what had happened, according to investigators. She later said that she'd made the meal for her husband.

TMEPE, AZ – While medical marijuana may be legal in Arizona and it's common knowledge that you should feed a cold, under no circumstances should a toddler be given THC – the chemical in marijuana that makes people high. A mom in Tempe found that out last week.
The child is okay and 25-year-old Alaina Limpert told investigators that the whole thing was an accident.
Limpert, who is charged with one count of child abuse, had made a dish of macaroni and cheese for her husband. She had prepared the dish with THC-infused butter, officials say. it was never intended for the couple's almost-2-year-old.

The state's Department of Child Safety was notified two days later, took the toddler to the hospital where it was determined that there was still TCH in the child's blood.

The 2-year-old and two other children were removed from the home where investigators also discovered what appeared to two tens that were set up to grow marijuana.
Medical marijuana is legal in Arizona and there is a campaign to legalize recreational use.
Limpert is due back in court on April 19.
