Trump Says He'll Talk About Jan. 6, 2021, On Visit To Arizona
The former president canceled a news conference in Florida set for the one-year anniversary of the riot at the U.S. Capitol.

ARIZONA — Former President Donald Trump plans to air his grievances about news coverage and the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection during a visit to Arizona set for Jan. 15.
Trump had planned to speak his piece against the congressional committee investigating the events of Jan. 6, 2021, during a Florida press conference set for the one-year anniversary of the deadly riot, but announced Tuesday that the press conference was canceled, The Associated Press reported.
"In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday," Trump wrote in a news release.

Trump instead plans to speak about the events of Jan. 6 and the country's response to it at a "Save America" rally set for 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at Canyon Moon Ranch in Florence. Florence is in Pinal County, around 60 miles southeast of Phoenix.
Trump faced pressure to cancel the Florida event from some in his own party who believed it was not a good idea to keep focusing on the 2020 election with Republicans gearing up for the 2022 election, The Associated Press reported.

In his statement, Trump accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of denying requests for a National Guard or military presence at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
But according to an Associated Press fact check, those claims are false.
More than 725 people in almost all 50 states and the District of Columbia have been arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Around 165 of those people have pleaded guilty to federal charges and 70 have been found guilty and sentenced, with 30 of those sentenced to time in prison, according to the Department of Justice.
The department estimates that around 140 police officers from both the U.S. Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department were assaulted during the riot and Capitol breach on Jan. 6.
