Two Students From Phoenix Recognized By University Deans

Two Phoenix students' academic excellence has been recognized by their respective universities' deans.

PHOENIX, AZ – Jaclyn Lambert and Emma Newton, both students from Phoenix, were recognized by their respective universities’ deans for scholastic achievements.

Lambert, a nursing major, is now on the Upper Iowa University summer 2019 dean’s list. To achieve the honor, undergrads must earn a GPA of at least 3.50 and have full-time student status. Newton, a recent graduate, was named a winner of the spring 2019 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence from the Cate School at Colgate University. To receive the award, students must be enrolled in three or more classes and earn a GPA of at least 3.30.

The nonprofit, private Upper Iowa University was founded in 1857 and has about 5,000 international and national students enrolled. Upper Iowa University has locations at Fayette, Iowa and Hong Kong and offers high school students dual-enrollment programs.

Colgate University, a private liberal arts college founded in 1819 and located in Hamilton, New York, has 25 Division I sports teams, nearly 3,000 students and offers 56 undergraduate majors.
