Veteran Phoenix Detective, Wife Charged With Theft, Fraud, More
Autumn and Michael Maya – she works for DES and he's a veteran detective – were arrested after a months-long probe by the state.

PHOENIX, AZ – It started last November with an envelope containing pieces of paper trimmed to the size of cash. The envelope – in a safe at an office of the state's Department of Economic Security – was supposed to contain $3,488 in cash.
Economic Security officials informed the Department of Public Safety, which opened an investigation that led them to discover that cash wasn't the only thing missing. Weapons and body cameras were aslo missing.
They discovered that an employee – 39-year-old Autumn Maya – not only had access to the safe because she would audit firearms that were kept there, had left fingerprints on a piece of tape sealing the envelope.
