Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:
- When a St. Louis woman missed the last call for her flight out of Sky Harbor on Sunday, police say that she ran out onto the tarmac in an attempt to stop the plane from leaving without her. She was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, a felony. (KOLD)
- The Phoenix Police Department is considering not sending officers to certain types of calls as a way to deal with understaffing. The department has hundreds of vacant positions. Some examples of calls the police might consider allowing other departments to respond to include noise complaints, loose animals, illegal parking and minor fender benders, among many others. - If you're planning on going out and celebrating New Year's with some adult beverages this year, you don't need to worry about getting a safe ride home. Valley Metro and Coors Light have partnered to provide free rides on Valley Metro Rail, bus and paratransit systems beginning at 7 p.m. New Year's Eve. (Signals AZ)
