1 Dead, 1 Injured In Car Crash, Fire In Scottsdale: DPS
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said one died and one was seriously injured in an early Friday morning car crash and fire.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A fiery car crash on the Loop 101 in Scottsdale early Friday morning resulted in one death and one injury, officials said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said troopers were notified of a fire in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Princess Drive just after midnight. When they arrived, the troopers found a vehicle on fire that appeared to have struck a pole or a tree.
DPS said one person was pronounced dead at the site and another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Raintree Drive on and off ramps on the Loop 101 were temporarily closed after the crash but have now reopened, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The same goes for the off ramp at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
No other details were made available. The cause of the crash is currently unclear.
