1. Saguaro athletic director quits amid claims of inappropriate messages (azcentral.com) — Scottsdale parents should know that Saguaro High School’s athletic director and assistant principal has resigned after allegations he sent inappropriate messages to a student, a move the Scottsdale Unified Governing Board approved this week. The district quickly removed him from campus, notified families at both Saguaro and Mohave Middle School, and reported the matter to Scottsdale police and the State Board of Education.
   

2. Officer, driver hurt after crash in Scottsdale (azfamily.com) — A Scottsdale police officer and another driver were hurt in a two-vehicle crash that shut down the Osborn Road and Drinkwater Boulevard intersection late Saturday morning, though neither suffered serious injuries. The officer was taken to a hospital for evaluation, the other driver declined transport, and the intersection is expected to remain closed for about two hours while investigators work the scene.
   

3. 'Castle on the Hill' up for auction in Scottsdale (azcentral.com) — A well-known luxury estate nicknamed the “Castle on the Hill” in Scottsdale, estimated at about $24 million, is headed to auction, signaling a major high-end listing in the local market. While details are sparse, the sale highlights the scale of ultra-luxury real estate activity in the city and could draw significant outside interest and investment attention to Scottsdale.
   

4. Surprise! These 2 Arizona Cities Rated High for 'Most Caring' In the U.S.! (thunder981.com) — Scottsdale just ranked 3rd in WalletHub’s list of the most caring cities in America, with Gilbert close behind at 4th and several other Arizona cities also making the top 100. The study highlights Scottsdale’s strong support for vulnerable residents, including high adoption rates and low child poverty, reinforcing the city’s reputation for compassion and community involvement.
   

5. Hamilton star wins Doherty award for top Arizona HS football player (azcentral.com) — A Heisman-style ceremony at Ocean 44 in Scottsdale honored Chandler Hamilton sophomore receiver Roye Oliver III with the prestigious Ed Doherty Award as Arizona’s top high school football player. The Scottsdale event gathered 10 standout finalists from across the state and also recognized an AIA official and a longtime sports writer for their contributions to the game.
