• Scottsdale tests live 911 video chats as Google rolls out Android feature (azfamily.com) — Scottsdale’s 911 center is testing live video chats so dispatchers can text callers a link and see emergencies in real time when it’s safe to do so. The Scottsdale Police Department says it’s especially useful when callers witness incidents like wildfires, but not when they’re in immediate danger. Android and Apple users may already have compatible features if phones are updated.
   

• Arizona Jewish community boosts security, vows for unity following deadly attack in Australia (fox10phoenix.com) — In Scottsdale, security is being stepped up around Hanukkah candle lighting events as part of a Valley-wide response to a deadly attack on a Jewish community in Australia. Phoenix Police and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office are boosting patrols near synagogues and Jewish gatherings, while local Jewish leaders urge residents to stay visible, united, and committed to celebrating their faith.
   

• This Southern City Was Just Named The Most Caring In America (southernliving.com) — Scottsdale just ranked third most caring city in America, behind only Virginia Beach and Boston, in a new WalletHub study. Researchers credit top cities with high volunteerism, charitable giving, and many residents working in helping professions, along with relatively low crime, poverty, and homelessness rates—painting a flattering, data-driven picture of Scottsdale’s community spirit.
