2 Charged In Connection With Scottsdale Fashion Square Riots

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Two men have been charged with multiple felonies in connection to riots in downtown Scottsdale last May, Scottsdale police said.
Blaze Claeson, 18, and Anthony Paez, 29, were charged with burglary and forgery after video surveillance showed both stealing merchandise from a store, according to police.
Both men were booked and released in connection with the case,

If convicted on the burglary charge, Claeson and Paez face between seven and 21 years in prison.
Additionally, if convicted on the forgery charge, the two face between 18 months and three years in prison.

Claeson was captured on surveillance video removing merchandise from the Alex and Ani store at the mall, while Paez was seen on surveillance video taking items from the mall's Sephora location, police said.
More than 60 people have been charged in connection with the riots, which occurred at Scottsdale Fashion Square on May 30 and 31, 2020, police said.
