  1. A Scottsdale nonprofit will host a free Halloween celebration for local members of the autistic community on Saturday, Oct. 29. Autism Life and Living's inaugural Social Circle Halloween Bash will take place at Kahala Brands from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and feature a host of holiday foods, music, and games, as well as a costume contest. Members of the autistic community ages 17 and older can register for the bash online before Oct. 27. (Daily Independent)
  2. A new art exhibit highlighting Hispanic culture in Arizona opened on Tuesday at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library. The exhibition features original artwork from eleven artists highlighting themes such as ancestry and womanhood. The exhibit is open now through Dec. 31 in the library's public gallery. (12 News)
  3. A former Scottsdale police officer has been named special agent in charge of the FBI Phoenix Field Office. Mesa native Akil Davis served as an officer for the department before joining the bureau as a special agent in 2005. Davis most recently served as a section chief in the International Operations Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Daily Independent)
