Jay Feely to run for Congress in Scottsdale, following Trump's advice (azcentral.com) — Scottsdale’s closely watched congressional seat just got more competitive as former Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely shifts his campaign into the Scottsdale-area district at Donald Trump’s urging. He’ll join several other high-profile Republicans and a crowded Democratic field vying to replace retiring Rep. David Schweikert in the 2026 elections, which could reshape representation for Scottsdale and nearby communities.
   

2. What could happen to the school buildings Arizona districts are voting to close (azfamily.com) — Scottsdale Unified has voted to close two schools, including Pima Elementary, and neighbors are now wondering what will happen to the building and land they helped fund. State rules limit how districts can reuse or dispose of closed campuses, and no decisions have been made yet. Residents across Scottsdale and the Valley are watching closely to see whether these sites stay educational or become something entirely new.

Phoenix-area caregivers help 102-year-old woman keep birthday tradition alive (azfamily.com) — A 102-year-old Valley woman kept her cherished birthday carousel tradition alive thanks to local caregivers who took her to the Arizona Boardwalk in Scottsdale for a special ride. The Phoenix-based Suncrest Hospice team organized the outing so she could celebrate with family and relive memories she once shared with her late husband.
   

4. VIN 001 and 002 Hurst Dodge Vipers Head to Auction as Matched Pair (motorious.com) — A pair of ultra-rare 2008 Hurst 50th Anniversary Dodge Vipers, VIN 001 and 002, will cross the block together at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale. The matched coupe and convertible feature exclusive matte gold finishes, low mileage, and Hurst performance upgrades, and even come with a matching Viper-bodied go-kart for the winning bidder.
