Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- Born and Raised Hospitality, the group behind some of your favorite eateries, has opened a "fast-casual restaurant" in Old Town . Customized ramen bowls, steamed bau buns, and seasoned fries are served up at Clever Ramen, but the architecture is just as delicious! A curved plywood ceiling and the abstract shape of ramen across the walls creates a warm, welcoming place to dine. (Scottsdale Progress)
- A man died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound in front of the Scottsdale Police and Fire Headquarters. Due to the extent of the injury, lifesaving measures could not be used by paramedics. Police crisis intervention specialists, a group of mental health professionals, were with the police when the man's family was notified. There are no further updates on this story currently. - Smashing Pumpkins is coming to Phoenix! The alternative rock group will hit the Valley for their "Spirits on Fire Tour" tour on November 18, but tickets go on sale this week. And look out for special guests Jane's Addiction, Poppy, and Meg Myers. (Patch)
- The Phoenix Zoo has a new member — Wgasa! Wgasa is a 16-year-old male Bornean orangutan from Nebraska's Henry Doorly Zoo. Head over to the Phoenix Zoo to meet Wgasa and new friend Rayma. (ABC 15)
