  1. El Hefe returns! After being closed this summer for renovations, the Scottsdale Mexican restaurant and nightclub will reopen this Friday, September 3. Nearly $1 million was spent installing a 45-foot LED screen, updating the overall design, and redoing its food and drink menu. To check out all the new updates, swing by El Hefe from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. this Friday for a re-opening celebration. (What Now Phoenix)
  2. Puttshack announced they are coming to Scottsdale next year! The high-tech mini golf location will open at 15059 N. Scottsdale Road with a 25,000 square-feet, two-story facility. The dining menu and full cocktail bar, along with automatic score keeping, makes the new facility an exciting addition to the Scottsdale Quarter. (Your Valley)
  3. Governor Doug Ducey is allotting $60 million in federal virus relief funds to assist understaffed Arizona hospitals — but only if they offer monoclonal antibody treatments as well as vaccines. Antibody treatments are ones way of easing the effects of COVID-19, but they are limited to specific demographics and case severity. The funding will specifically be used for contracts for 750 nurses who will work eight weeks. (AZ Family)
  4. Saddleback Communications received the 2020 Best of Scottsdale Award for its diligent service to the Scottsdale community. Saddleback Communications provides fiber-based voice and data communications to business and residential customers in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and has been in operation since 1997.   5. To mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the city of Scottsdale is hosting a free 9/11 Memorial Tribute all week. The ceremony will be held at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Art from September 3-12. (Press Release Desk)

But, it might be of interest to Scottsdale residents: A female Brazilian Rainbow Boa at Phoenix Zoo gave birth despite not having a male partner in 10 years. The baby was likely born through an asexual reproductive process called parthenogenesis. Although the process does occasionally occur in reptiles, this is only the second document case involving a boa. (KTAR.com)
