Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. The largest police department K9 trials event in the nation is coming to Scottsdale WestWorld this weekend. The Scottsdale Police Department will be on-site to participate in the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association Trials. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 29.   2. The Arizona Theatre Company is moving to a new location in Tempe, bringing its famed productions a little bit closer for Scottsdale’s theatre lovers. After more than 30 years of performances at the Herberger Theater Center in downtown Phoenix, the company is transitioning to the Tempe Center for the Arts. The new theater features 600 seats and a Broadway-sized main stage. (KJZZ)
  3. The National Weather Service confirmed a landspout touched down briefly afternoon in nearby Chandler. No damage was reported from the cloud formation, which weather officials say was likely a cold air funnel. Visit the link to see photos of the landspout sent in by locals. (ABC 15)
