First, today's weather: It's getting hot today — even for the Valley! With a high of 113 and a low of 86, residents can expect another excessive heat warning.

  1. Scottsdale police arrested Brian Ram and Leonardo Urimubeshi on August 2 after the two were accused of kidnapping an acquaintance. Urimubeshi loaned the victim $12,000 last year and, after the victim did not pay back the loan in the agreed timeframe, the two men confronted him at work. When the victim tried to run, he was forced into a vehicle, zip tied, and prevented from calling 911. Ram and Urimubeshi released the victim after forcing him to sign a new payment agreement.   2. Five suspects are wanted by the Scottsdale police for involvement in the Scottsdale Fashion Square unrest last May. Authorities have already arrested 64 people in connection to the unrest that forced the mall to close for about two weeks, and caused millions of dollars worth of damaged. (KTAR News)
  3. The Scottsdale-born Brighton Zeuner is making her Olympic debut in skateboarding Tuesday evening. Zeuner is just 17-years-old, but has been breaking records since she was 13 when she became the youngest gold medalist at the 2017 X Games. (12 News)
  4. The Desert Botanical Garden and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation's Taliesin West will exhibit the glass work of Dale Chihuly. "Chihuly in the Desert" will be on display from December 3, 2021 through at least June 19, 2022. (ABC15)
  5. The Scottsdale Waterfront once again is featuring fire shows from November 5 through 14. Walter Productions brings its art installation to Canal Convergence | Water + Art + Light for 10 days. The exhibit is a free, public art display featuring light-based and interactive art installations from around the world. Know for its Burning Man artworks, Walter Productions has studios in Phoenix and right here in Scottsdale. (Your Valley)
