Make-A-Wish® Arizona Awarded $5,000 from Genrose Insurance

Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Genrose Insurance with a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with Make-A-Wish® Arizona, a nonprofit organization dedicated to granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. The award includes an initial $5,000 donation to Make-A-Wish® Arizona, which can be doubled to $10,000 with community support.

The Genrose Insurance and Make-A-Wish® Arizona community story is highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/genrose-insurance-agency/, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will increase to $10,000 — enough to fulfill an entire wish for a child in Arizona.

Michael Monteleone, the agency principal at Genrose Insurance and former child leukemia survivor and Wish Kid, has been a Make-A-Wish® Arizona volunteer wish granter for 15 years. He has helped create magical moments for Wish Kids, from building a sensory playhouse to organizing airport sendoffs trips to see Alaskan glaciers and Broadway shows. Genrose Insurance employees and clients actively support Make-A-Wish® Arizona through blood donations, fundraisers and financial contributions. Recently, Genrose Insurance hosted a Wine and Wishes event at the historic Parsons Wish House, where attendees could learn about the first wish granted in Arizona 45 years ago and how Make-A-Wish® Arizona supports both kids and families affected by critical illnesses.

Since its founding in 1980, Make-A-Wish® Arizona has granted 8,500 wishes bringing hope, strength, and joy to children and families facing critical illnesses, creating a lasting sense of hope within the community.

Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
