Man With Autism Still Missing, Scottsdale Police Continue Search

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale Police continue to search for Najib Monsif, a 20-year-old man who was reported missing last week.

Monsif has autism and the mental capacity of an 8-year-old child, police said.

Police believe Monsif left on foot from his home Wednesday night in a neighborhood northeast of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Via Linda in Scottsdale.

Monsif is around 5 feet, 10 inches tall and has a thin build, police said. He might be wearing all black clothing. He goes by the nickname "Jubi."

Monsif does not drive and does not have his cell phone with him, police said.

Police initially searched Monsif's neighborhood and surrounding areas, including parks, shopping centers, nature areas, canals and Monsif's usual hangout spots, police said in a Sunday update on the search.

"We are continuing to search for Najib using extensive investigative resources and technology," Scottsdale police said in a news release.

Police asked that people keep an eye out for Monsif and immediately call 911 or 480-312-5000 if anyone spots him.

Scottsdale police thanked community members who have helped search for Monsif.
