  1. In response to the delta variant, the cities of Flagstaff, Peoria, Phoenix, Tempe, and Tucson are again required to wear masks inside government or city-owned buildings and facilities. Regardless of vaccination status, the CDC recommends wearing masks indoors in communities where community spread is "substantial or high." Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal counties all fall into this category. (ABC15)
  2. Once forbidden D.H. Lawrence paintings will be displayed in a Paradise Valley home beginning on August 16. Almost a century ago, London officials seized the paintings from display due to their scandalous nature. The paintings are now owned by, and cared for, by Bob Sahd and his family. (Scottsdale Independent)
  3. Three former ASU employees and a former Arizona superintendent were indicted on a total of 27 felony counts in a procurement fraud scheme. The Arizona Auditor General made the report public July 22, which explains that the possible state procurement violation is related to a development services contract with Higley Unified School District. The arraignment hearings will occur on August 11. (The State Press)
  4. The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is expanding its addiction services with its RecoveryGo™ telehealth solutions, which is available to everyone living in Arizona or New Mexico. The online outpatient and telehealth care is now available to Arizona and New Mexico residents who previously had to travel outside their state to receive treatment from the non-profit. In Scottsdale, the Foundation collaborates with Camelback Recovery and Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center. (Business Wire)
