Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- The Scottsdale Philharmonic has hired a new full-time conductor. Maestro Dmitry Polyakov is a world-class conductor who will be opening the Philharmonic's 11th season on Sunday, Oct. 9. The new hire is part of the organization's goal of becoming a major Arizona symphony. (citysuntimes)
- The Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children is building a new resource center in Scottsdale. The center will be a hyper-clean environment for children with pediatric cancer to find comfort and rest. - The City of Scottsdale is asking the community not to overseed this Fall. The city hopes by not overseeding, residents will conserve water. The practice was tested by a Scottsdale homeowners association to great effect in 2021. About 1.5 million gallons of water were saved through the practice. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
