Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:
- New 2023 rules have been approved for Scottsdale's short-term rental landlords. As the latest city to approve new rules aiming to better guide short-term rental owners, Scottsdale has new requirements that include obtaining a Scottsdale license for each property, organizing sex offender and background checks on booking guests, and having liability insurance. The Scottsdale City Council unanimously voted in favor of these new requirements on Oct. 25 — and they are scheduled to go into effect on Jan. 8. (KTAR)
- The Scottsdale Public Library will be hosting a Japanese Stab Bookbinding class today, Nov. 8. In the class, participants will learn the history and technique of this traditional hands-on bookbinding process and also make a personalized notebook. The class takes place at 2:00 p.m. Registration is available here. (Scottsdale Public Library via Facebook)
- A 13-year-old Scottsdale student was named as a finalist in BYJU's 18u18 coding competition. Arnav Hingorani, a student at ASU Prep School, came up with the idea for an app to keep track of personal milestones. In BYJU's competition, coding students under 18 years old were selected to compete globally in the 18u18 coding competition. The top 18 students with the best ideas developed a prototype with a coding mentor. (citysuntimes)
