Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- Birdcall, a Colorado based chicken-sandwich chain, is opening its first Arizona location on May 2! Located on Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road, Birdcall offers lunch and dinner as well as beer from San Tan Brewing and Greenwood Brewing. (KTAR.com)
- Travel mask mandates across the country are changing, and SkyHarbor is no different. Scottsdale travelers should be aware that, as of Tuesday, April 19, TSA no longer enforces mask mandates for employees or customers within SkyHarbor. The change also applies to our local ride-shares, Valley Metro, and other public transportation. The CDC still strongly recommends masks in public spaces. (Patch)
- Think aquariums are just for kids? Think again! OdySea Aquarium is hosting a 21+ crowd for happy hour on April 28. According to an OdySea press release, guests can interact with "unique touch pools with Stingrays, Sharks and the only Russian Sturgeon touch exhibit in the world." (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- In case you missed it, last week Patch's Caitlin Sievers reported on threats made against Scottsdale schools by a UK teenager. The boy called numerous schools and businesses around Scottsdale claiming he was armed and coming to fire on the establishments. Several schools locked down as a result. The teen was arrested near Manchester, England and will be prosecuted in the UK for these threats and is further suspected of possessing and distributing indecent photos of children online. (Patch)
