PHOTO OP: If you have any recent photos of our lovely city, please email them to me and they might be featured in the Daily! Simply confirm in the email that you own the rights to the photo, and that Patch has permission to republish it. Providing a little note about the photo, and if you want to be credited or remain anonymous, would be helpful too.
My email is at the bottom of the Daily, but here it is again: madison.feser@patch.com. Looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- In honor of Psychological Well being Consciousness Month, the Arizona Department of Education awarded $12.1 million to initiatives across the state that promote student wellness. Scottsdale's own notMYkid nonprofit received $2 million of that total. The program encourages "constructive life decisions" and offers a variety of care plans and intervention tactics to help Arizonan youth. (Subscription: Daily Independent)
- Prepare yourself: There is a total lunar eclipse coming this weekend! The blood moon, which describes the orange hue the moon takes when eclipsed, will be visible to residents of Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tucson. The partial eclipse begins at 7:28 p.m. MST. Check out the Patch article, linked in blue, to learn more about blood moons, supermoons, eclipses, and international festivals celebrating the moon! (Patch)
- The City of Scottsdale is opening a new park at Ashler Hills Drive and 74th Way! The 17-acre project is funded through 2019 voter-approved bonds. Construction begins this summer and will take about a year to complete. (City of Scottsdale, Facebook Post )
- Fashion week returns to Scottsdale after three years of pandemic cancellations. With restrictions easing across the state, organizers are hoping to make a splash at the Senna House Scottsdale, Hilton Curio Collection hotel, and smaller venues throughout the city from May 11-15. This departure from a traditional, hour-long fashion show encourages the feeling of a night on the town, where the party seemingly never ends. (Scottsdale Progress)
