Welcome back, Scottsdale! It's Tuesday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on in town today.

Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Maricopa County Sheriff's Office detectives were involved in a shooting while executing a search warrant in Paradise Valley. Officers attempted to gain cooperation from the suspect, Theresse Danielle Federico, in connection to a white collar offence. Federico pointed a gun at officers from the kitchen window. When she refused to lower her weapon, officers fired. Federico sustained a non-life threatening injury. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Organizers of the Waste Management Phoenix Open are excited to announce they are preparing for a normal 2022 golf tournament after a scaled back 2021 Open due to the pandemic. However, the tournament is schedule a week later than normal, February 7-13, in order to coincide with Super Bowl LVI. TPC Scottsdale is hosting the event. (ABC 15)
  3. Scottsdale Water announced that WaterReuse Arizona awarded Water Quality Director Suzanne Grendahl and Water Reclamation Services Director David Walby co-winners of Person of the Year for 2021. Grendahl and Walby were recognized for their efforts to establish Arizona’s first Direct Potable Reuse permit at the Advanced Water Treatment Plant. (City of Scottsdale)
  4. Scottsdale Fashion Square will help students prepare their back-to-school wardrobe by hosting a fashion show on August 7th. Not only will the hottest stores and beauty bars be open for business, but the FORD/Robert Black Agency is holding an open call model and actor search for ages 5 years and up.
