Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:
- Maricopa Community Colleges has launched a new partnership with the Phoenix Mayor. The partnership titled "Route to Relief" is meant to provide local residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with education and employment assistance. The program is funded through Phoenix pandemic relief money. Maricopa County residents can apply by clicking this link. (Glendale Star)
- A Maricopa County car chase ended with police shooting the suspect. The incident is being investigated by the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. Maricopa Casa Grande Highway was closed temporarily for an initial investigation. The suspect's identity has not been released. (Fox 10 News)
- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is urging Scottsdale parents to discuss the dangers of fentanyl with their children. Local law enforcement reports a significant increase in counterfeit pills that are actually fentanyl. Test strips can be purchased at local pharmacies and supermarkets. Parents are encouraged to stress to children that they need to act if one of their friends overdoses. Arizona has a Good Samaritan Law. (AZ Family)
