Here are the top four stories in Scottsdale today:
- This weekend marks the arrival of the Phoenix Greek Festival, and residents from Scottsdale and the surrounding areas are ready to dig in. As visitors stroll through the festival they'll be treated to live Greek music and culture. There will be tempting Greek dishes, stunning art, and activities the whole family will love. Tickets for the event can be purchased at the doors of the festival, which is scheduled for Oct. 7. (Phoenix New Times)
- A new Scottsdale CBD store is determined to help residents reduce pain and anxiety, and improve their quality of life. Nature's Bloom is a string of CBD stores which focuses on pain reduction and other health-based items. The family-owned company provides soothing salves, tinctures to help with aches and pains, and even products for your cats and dogs. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- Stephen Mora, a successful Scottsdale realtor, has been accused of murdering his estranged wife, Janell Leach, after stalking her for several months. Mora shot Leach in the lung, then called the police to confess his crime before shooting himself in the head; although Mora reportedly suffered three heart attacks on the way to the hospital, he survived. He will serve 25 years for the murder after taking a plea deal for second-degree murder to avoid the death penalty. (East Valley Tribune)
- Scottsdale is hiring maintenance workers to assist on the WestWorld project, as well as improving local city parks and fields. WestWorld is a premier facility for special events and an award-winning equestrian center. Employees will help set up events and work with the horses. Scottsdale Parks and Recreation, meanwhile, is looking for workers to maintain the 42 parks throughout the area. For more information and to apply, check out the link. (Signals AZ)
