  1. The Maricopa County recorder and the county's Board of Supervisors accused Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich of ignoring evidence in his report a criminal investigation. The accusation comes in the form of a letter, claims Brnovich sowed seeds of doubt regarding the 2020 election and did not properly investigate claims of election fraud. Rather than properly report the audit's finding of an uncontested election, Brnovich is accused of "omitted pertinent information, misrepresented facts, and cited distorted data". (Patch)
  2. Maricopa County Deputy Juan “Johnny” Ruiz was killed by a man trying to escape custody on October 9 2021. Now, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office is seeking the death penalty for the accused, Clinton Robert Hurley. This is the first time interim County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has sought the death penalty. The trial is scheduled for October 2022.(The Arizona Republic)

  4. Whiz Kidz Preschool is opening a second facility in Scottsdale. After the first facility garnered a waitlist of nearly 50 children, founder/CEO Martha Picciao decided to open a new facility catering to children under five-years-old.   5. Paramedic Joan Wood, of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Fire Department, has been promoted to fire captain, making her the first women from the Community to hold the title. Wood started her career in 1999 and plans on continuing to serve as a paramedic in addition to her supervisory role at Station 291. (O'odham Action News)
