  1. UPDATE: Last night, the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board called a special meeting to discuss the indoor mask requirement. The board voted 4-1 in favor of implementing a mask requirement. Zach Lindsay was the only member to vote against the mandate. Caitlin Sievers reports that parents gathered around the district's district's Mohave Annex in protest. (Scottsdale Patch)
  2. Gov. Doug Ducey announced that schools and districts with mask mandates, such as SUSD, won't be eligible for the $163 million in federal grant funding. Any districts that currently have mask mandates can repeal them by August 27 to be eligible for the funding. (Scottsdale Patch)
  3. Neiman Marcus in Scottsdale Fashion Square will host, for one day only, the unveiling of multi-million dollar Andy Warhol painting. From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on September 23, "Little Electric Chair", previously owned by rock legend Alice Cooper, will be available for the last public viewing. The painting is then being auctioned from Larsen Gallery, where it is expected to sell between $2.5 and $4.5 million. (Your Valley)
  4. Two Arizona doctors must pay a total of $500,000 in settlements, according to Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. Dr. Nikesh Seth is based out of Scottsdale. He must individually relinquish $374,000 for taking speaker payments from Chandler-based Insys Therapeutics, in exchange for prescribing their patients addictive opioids. (Scottsdale Patch)
