Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:
- On Oct. 25, the Scottsdale City Council will be voting on an ordinance that would require short-term rentals to register with the city. If approved, the ordinance would go into effect on Dec. 24. Short-term rental owners would need to provide personal information to the city and proof of compliance with transaction privilege tax license requirements. (Scottsdale.org)
- Scottsdale's Ryan C. Patterson has been convicted on three counts of tax evasion. He was found guilty of failing to correctly report his income between 2014 and 2016. By incorrectly reporting his income, he avoided paying $700,000 in taxes. His business offered flooring, restoration, and plumbing services. (KGUN 9 Tucson News)
- Paintporuium will be offering free painting classes at the Maricopa County Home Show this year. The classes will be offered from Friday, Oct. 14 through Sunday, Oct. 16. Participants will learn to create Arizona-inspired masterpieces while enjoying home décor products. All materials will be provided and all experience levels are welcome to attend. (Newswire)
