- Scottsdale's annual Veterans Day commemoration will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 3:00 p.m. in McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. This year's keynote speaker is Rose Mattie, a combat veteran and former Blackhawk pilot whose service history includes deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. Scottsdale Mayor David D. Ortega and Air Force veteran Joan Fudala will also offer remarks. (Daily Independent)
- Gas prices in Scottsdale have dropped since last week but remain higher than they were one month ago. Numbers released on Tuesday show the current average price per gallon is $4.75, down from $4.82 a week ago. - Award-winning author Richie Norton recently celebrated the publication of his new book during a live launch event in Scottsdale.
