  1. UPDATE: Yessina Garcia's Wrongful ArrestGarcia is seeking $300,000 in a federal wrongful arrest lawsuit against both the city of Scottsdale and its police department. As reported previously in the Scottsdale Daily, Garica was wrongfully arrested last year, allegedly told she did not have the right to a lawyer, and denied her right to see a warrant for a blood drawing. Garcia called officers while in Old Town to report vandalization to her car's windshield — she was then arrested. Despite having immediate proof of her innocence, officers charged Garcia in connection to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that happened just a half hour before. (KTAR.com, AZFamily)
  2. Looking for a new place to grab a bite and an adult beverage? Well the Wandering Donkey Taqueria & Tequila Bar has just opened in north Scottsdale! Everyone's favorite food truck is now brick-and-mortar venue located in the Bashasshopping center on the southwest corner of Bell and Thompson Peak. (mouthbysouthwest.com)
  3. The Biden Administration recently approved a substantial increase to food assistance programs, including SNAP Boosters. Since the pandemic, Maricopa County residents on the brink of hunger increased to a shocking 13.9 percent. Those who qualify will see a $36 increase per person to their food assistance benefits — meaning much of Maricopa County will benefit from the new approval.
