2 More Teens Arrested In Shooting Of UArizona Student: Police

The Tucson Police Department said it has arrested two more 17-year-olds in the fatal shooting of University of Arizona student Forrest Keys.

TUCSON, AZ — Two more teenagers are in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a University of Arizona student, Tucson police announced Saturday.

The Tucson Police Department said it had identified 17-year-olds Roberto Joaquin Camargo and Ruben Young during its investigation into the shooting death of Forrest Keys, 20. Both teens have been booked into the Pima County Jail's Adult Detention Center, and are charged with first degree murder and drive-by shooting, according to a news release.

Another 17-year-old, Alonzo Orosco, was previously arrested on Friday.

In a news conference held Saturday, police said they believe Young was the shooter. All three teens were in the 2008 Cadillac spotted driving from the campus parking garage where Keys was shot on Feb. 20, and are accused of taunting the victim in a dispute just before the shooting, Tucson Police Department Chief Chris Magnus said.

Magnus said investigators have determined that Keys threw a “single punch” into the car as they taunted him on his way home through the garage around 11 p.m. That's when he was shot, police said.

All three teens are expected to be tried as adults.

But police said the investigation is far from over. Detectives are still searching for additional suspects, as well as the maroon Cadillac they were seen driving at the time of the shooting.

“It’s important,” TPD homicide Detective Patrick Robinson said of the Cadillac, as reported by the Arizona Daily Star. “We can do without it if we have to but it would be nice to have.”

According to officers, the car in question has damage on the rear passenger side and its Arizona license plate number is LZA-3ANA.

Anyone with information about the car or the case is being asked to call 911 or call 88-CRIME with a tip.
