3 People Escape Tucson Border Protection In 3 Days: 1 Outstanding
Two of the people who escaped Customs and Border Protection custody and were caught, the third person was not, CBP said.
TUCSON, AZ — Three people escaped Tucson Customs and Border Protection agents within three days this week, according to a statement from Tucson Border Patrol provided to KOLD journalist Angelica Carrillo.
Two of the three people were caught, but the third remains outstanding, according to the statement that Carrillo shared on Twitter.
On Saturday a United States citizen suspected of human smuggling escaped border protection agents in Benson. The person was found a few minutes later and charged on suspicion of human smuggling, according to the statement.

On Sunday, agents took 11 people suspected of being undocumented immigrants into custody and one of them escaped, CBP said in the statement. Even with the help of air support and additional agents, the person was not found.
On Monday a man accused of being an undocumented immigrant who was in border patrol custody escaped while he was being moved to a contracted bus for transportation, according to the statement. He was found and re-arrested after an extensive search, the CBP said.
