With multiple drop-off sites across Tucson and nearby areas, you just need to strip decorations, skip the curb, and consider carpooling neighbors’ trees for an easy, eco-friendly cleanup.
   

2. Habitat for Humanity helps south-side families land their first homes (kgun9.com) — Five Southside Tucson families just moved into their first homes thanks to Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s latest dedication in the Rodeo subdivision. After years of renting and completing hundreds of sweat-equity hours, the new homeowners now have stable, affordable mortgages and a neighborhood that will eventually include 18 families on the city’s Southside.
   

3. Tucson mayor's teenage son arrested on DUI charge (tucsonsentinel.com) — Tucson residents are learning that Mayor Regina Romero’s 19-year-old son faces a misdemeanor DUI case after being stopped by Tucson police near East Broadway and South 6th Avenue. The case has been moved from Tucson City Court to Pima County’s Consolidated Justice Courts to avoid conflicts of interest, with hearings set in early January and potential jail time and fines if he’s convicted.
   

4. Tucson kids abducted in 2018 officially adopted (kvoa.com) — Two Tucson children abducted in 2018 have now been officially adopted by their aunt and uncle in a southside courtroom, finalizing the family they’ve lived with for years. Surrounded by relatives and friends, the Ramirez family is celebrating a hard-won, emotional new beginning just in time for Christmas.
   

5. Why Do Sierra Vista Residents Travel to Tucson and Phoenix? (thunder981.com) — Sierra Vista residents are regularly driving to Tucson and Phoenix for medical specialists, major hospitals, and big-box shopping they can’t get at home. Locals also make the trip for concerts, kids’ activities, zoos, and better dining options, often turning necessary appointments into full-day or weekend getaways.
