TUCSON, AZ — A 70-year-old man struck by a car in a Tucson parking lot is dead, after the car veered out of control following a collision with another vehicle at First Avenue and Prince.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 19, a black 2006 Toyota Tacoma truck was headed west on Prince Road and started to make a southbound left turn onto First Avenue. Meanwhile, a gray 2007 Dodge Charger was headed east on Prince Road in the median lane. The two vehicles crashed in the intersection, causing the Dodge Charger to veer out of control across Prince Road’s eastbound lanes and over a curb. The Charger then landed in a parking lot on the intersection’s southeast corner, after striking a man walking in the parking lot.
The pedestrian was identified by Tucson police as John Gordon Dear, 70.
