All Clear: Pima County Employees Return To Work After Bomb Scare
A suspicious backpack caused an evacuation of Superior Court and two nearby County buildings in Tucson. The threat was later cleared.

TUCSON, AZ — Shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, Pima County officials announced on Twitter a bomb threat involving a suspicious package spotted near the Pima County Superior Court building around 8:30 a.m. The threat was motivation for evacuation of the Superior Court and two nearby Pima County administration buildings.
KOLD reported that the suspicious package was actually a backpack with wires poking out. It was later detonated by the Tucson Bomb Squad close to the court’s front doors, the Arizona Daily Star reported. The Tucson Police Department then took the remaining contents of the suspicious bag for further investigation.
About 12:30 p.m., Pima County announced on Twitter that the evacuated County employees had returned to work, and that the public could reenter the buildings too, following the County’s staff.

During the incident, Congress Street travelers headed west between Granada and Church avenues were rerouted, but all travel restrictions were since lifted.
The investigation continues, and no additional details have been released by police yet.
