Buena High School Bomb Threat A False Alarm, Says Sheriff

The day before graduation at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, someone called in a bomb threat. No device was found.

SIERRA VISTA, AZ – The bomb threat that closed Buena High School in Sierra Vista turned out to be a false alarm. The disruption came the day before graduation.

The threat came in Thursday morning, forcing the evacuation of the school.

A reunification center was set up at the Rothery Education Service Center so parents could pick up their children.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office initially used four canines to search the interior of the school and the parking lot outside. Once that search was done, deputies conducted a secondary visual search. When that also came up negative, the building was reopened.
