Tucson Primas build community for young Latinas (tucson.com) — A new group called Tucson Primas is giving young Latinas in Tucson a welcoming way to make friends through movie nights, holiday parties, hikes and more. Founded by two cousins, the club is rapidly growing, planning a book club, collaborations with local artists and businesses, and even a small scholarship for a Tucson or University of Arizona student.
   

2. How to welcome 2026 with less clutter, more sustainability (tucson.com) — Tucson Clean & Beautiful is kicking off 2026 with hands-on ways for locals to declutter and live more sustainably, from neighborhood tree plantings to free Christmas tree recycling. You’ll find specific January dates, Tucson locations, and easy ideas for reusing, thrifting, and cutting waste that can save money while greening your home and community.
   

3. Tucson businesses for next minimum wage increase (kvoa.com) — Starting January 1, many Tucson workers will see their minimum wage rise to $15.45 an hour, keeping the city above state and federal levels. Local employees and business owners share mixed reactions, from relief over rising costs to worries about small business strain, with some planning modest price hikes and others urging solutions that don’t cut workers’ pay.
   

4. ADOT announces I-10, I-19 upgrades to improve Tucson traffic (kgun9.com) — Major freeway work on I-10 and I-19 will reshape how you drive around Tucson starting in 2026, with lane expansions, new interchanges, and better bike and pedestrian access. ADOT’s projects stretch from the northwest side to southeast of downtown and the Irvington Road/I-19 area, plus new safety technology between Nogales and Tucson.
   

5. Street racers take over Tucson intersection (kold.com) — A late-night street takeover at Fort Lowell Road and Tucson Boulevard jolted Midtown residents awake as cars spun through the intersection, leaving tire marks, debris, and fireworks residue. Tucson police quickly responded, arresting two drivers and impounding their vehicles, while neighbors and county officials call for tougher measures to curb increasingly dangerous street racing on local roads.
