9-Year-Old Child's Death At Tucson Apartment 'Suspicious': Police

Officers arrested two women and removed other children from the Golf Links Road home, police said.

TUCSON, AZ — A 9-year-old child died early Tuesday at a Tucson apartment complex, police said. Authorities called the death suspicious and ordered an autopsy to determine the child's cause of death.

The child's mother, Sandra Kraykovich, 38, and grandmother, Elizabeth Kraykovich, 64, were both arrested on suspicion of child abuse, but their arrests were not related to the child's death, police said.

Emergency personnel were called for an unresponsive child at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday to the apartment complex at 8250 E. Golf Links Road. Despite efforts to revive the 9-year-old, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
