Drive-By Shooting, Police Chase Ends In Arrests: Police
One man is accused of shooting at officers during the chase. Police believe one person who was in the vehicle escaped apprehension.

TUCSON, AZ — Two people were arrested Tuesday after a drive-by shooting, police chase and hours-long search in Tucson, according to police.
The shooting left one man hospitalized with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, according to Tucson police.
Ray Drew Kittrell, 24, was arrested on suspicion of attempted first degree murder, discharging a weapon within city limits, aggravated assault, drive-by shooting and shooting at an occupied structure, according to police.

David Eugene Howard, 41, was arrested on suspicion of drive-by shooting and unlawful flight from law enforcement, according to police.
Howard and Kittrell were both booked into Pima County Jail on Tuesday, according to police. As of Wednesday morning, both were being held without bond.

The incident began just before 7 a.m. Tuesday when the man was shot in the 1400 block of South Craycroft Road, according to police. Police accuse Kittrell of shooting the man.
Police immediately began searching for the vehicle from which witnesses said Kittrell was shot, according to police.
An officer soon spotted the vehicle near South Country Club and East Silverlake roads, according to police. The vehicle fled and someone inside of it shot at officers as they followed, according to police. A police car was hit by gunfire, but no one was injured, police said.
During the chase, the vehicle hit a mailbox on South Howard Avenue and the people inside, including Howard and Kittrell, ran into the neighborhood, according to police.
A woman who ran from the vehicle was immediately detained, police said.
Police cordoned off the neighborhood from South Country Club Road to South Palo Verde Avenue and a search began that included Tucson Police air support and and K-9 Units.
Police performed an extensive yard-by-yard search and a K9 unit found Howard, the suspected driver, around two hours later.
Police found Kittrell around 2:30 p.m. as he was trying to flag down drivers near East 23rd Street, police said. He sustained a minor injury from a K9 bite during his arrest, according to police.
Police believe there was a fourth person inside the vehicle during the shootings and police chase who managed to get away.
Tucson police ask that anyone with information about the identity or location of the fourth person in the vehicle report the information by calling 911 or 88-CRIME to report anonymously.
