Flash Flood Watch For Tucson Until Sunday Evening

A 'more active monsoon pattern' begins: National Weather Service.

TUCSON, AZ — Tucson should expect an "active monsoon pattern" this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS issued a flash flood watch for all of southeastern Arizona, from noon Thursday through 5 p.m. Sunday. Locals can look out for showers and thunderstorms, beginning Thursday, with the possibility of heavy rain and flash flooding.

The NWS advised locals to check forecasts before heading out over the weekend and to always have a back-up plan in case the weather makes outdoor activities unsafe. The NWS predicts a 40-70 percent chance of rain in the Tucson area throughout the weekend, with the highest chances Friday night through Saturday night.
